Sarah Becker, widely recognized for her role in Season 5 of MTV’s The Real World, has died by suicide. Her friends have taken to social media to honor her memory.
Sarah Becker, widely recognized for her role in Season 5 of MTV’s The Real World, has passed away at the age of 52.
Becker starred in the Miami-set fifth season of the reality show. TMZ reports that Becker died by suicide earlier this week at her residence in Illinois, as confirmed by her family.

Sarah Becker’s friends mourned her death
Becker’s friends have taken to social media to honor her memory.
“Sarah Becker radiated pure sunshine… Full of energy and positivity, her presence was always warm. I cherish our adventures and laughs. Big hugs to all the Wildstorm family!” wrote Daniel Norton on Facebook.
In a response to his own post, Norton added, “Sarah had a unique way of leaving a lasting impression. Everyone who met her has a fond memory or funny story involving her. That was her special gift.”
TMZ also highlighted that Becker had relocated to Illinois last year to care for her family and had been battling mental health issues recently. She had reportedly suffered a skateboarding accident not long ago.
Following the news of her death, another friend shared photos on Facebook to remember her.

“I just learned that one of the kindest people in my life, especially during my formative years, has passed away. Her smile and bubbly personality are what I always think of. You were loved and will be missed,” posted Joel Benjamin.
A friend also shared Becker’s final Facebook post from June 14, in which she asked for dentist recommendations.
On The Real World: Miami, Sarah Becker described herself as a “19-year-old trapped in a 25-year-old body.” During her time on the show, she adopted a puppy named Leroy. Her castmates included Dan Renzi, Melissa Padrón, Joe Patane, Cynthia Roberts, Flora Alekseyeun, and Mike Lambert.
