IND vs SA T20 World Cup 2024 Final will be played in Barbados.

India has maintained an unbeaten streak in the T20 World Cup, securing a spot in the final for the first time since 2014. This marks their third appearance in the final, and they aim to avoid a repeat of their disappointment in the 2023 ODI World Cup final.

The Indian team, which last won the T20 World Cup under MS Dhoni in 2007, will face fellow unbeaten side South Africa, who are making their debut in an ICC tournament final. However, rain might play a significant role in determining not just the toss but the entire match.

Weather interruptions have been a recurring issue in this tournament. India’s semi-final against England in Guyana was nearly affected by rain before the weather cleared, allowing Rohit Sharma’s team to secure a comfortable victory and avenge their 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final loss. Now, the final against South Africa at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, on Saturday is under threat from potential thunderstorms.

Barbados Weather Report: Will Rain Impact the T20 World Cup Final?

According to Accuweather, Saturday’s forecast predicts cloudy skies with diminishing winds and humid conditions, accompanied by thunderstorms in some areas. The hourly forecast indicates a 51 percent chance of thunderstorms between 6 and 8 AM local time, potentially delaying the match’s 10:30 AM start. Although rain chances decrease to around 30 percent later in the day, the forecast remains cloudy, with another chance of thunderstorms between 1 and 2 PM.

Contingency Plans: What if Rain Washes Out the Final?

If rain washes out the final on June 29, the match will be moved to the reserve day on June 30. ICC regulations stipulate that every effort will be made to complete the match on the scheduled day, including reducing the number of overs if necessary.

A minimum of 10 overs must be bowled to the team batting second to constitute a match. If the match starts on the scheduled day but is interrupted by rain and cannot continue, it will resume from the same point on the reserve day.
