Taking proactive measures, Prajwal Revanna secured an ex-parte injunction from the Principal City Civil and Sessions Court against 89 media houses, seeking to prevent the dissemination of what he deems as defamatory content regarding him.
However, the situation escalated further when the Karnataka Mahila Dourjanya Virodhi Vedike reportedly lodged a complaint with the Women’s Commission and urged for the formation of a special investigation team (SIT) to delve into the scandal.
Responding to the mounting pressure and public outcry, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced the government’s decision to establish an SIT to investigate the matter. This move comes following a letter from the Chairperson of the Women’s Commission, Dr. Nagalakshmi Chowdhary, urging for an SIT probe in light of the serious allegations.
Heading the SIT is IPS officer Vijay Kumar Singh, with Director General CID Suman D Pennekar and IPS officer Seema Latkar serving as members. Their task is to thoroughly investigate the allegations surrounding the alleged obscene videos circulating, particularly in Hassan district, where it is suggested that women may have been subjected to sexual assault.
