On Wednesday, Kyle Richards opened up about her emotional response to the photos of her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky, holding hands with his “Dancing With the Stars” partner, Emma Slater.
During an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,” Richards, 54, expressed her hurt feelings, saying, “That was very hard to see.” She confirmed to Cohen, 55, that the photos had genuinely upset her, adding, “I love him very much, and we are amicable, but that really did hurt me.”
These images, initially published by TMZ on Monday, captured Umansky, 53, and Slater, 34, strolling in athleisurewear, holding hands, and sharing laughter before dining together in Beverly Hills. When Cohen asked if she thought there was more to their relationship, the former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star nodded, stating, “I mean, holding hands like that. I mean, Andy… I really don’t — why are you doing this to me?” She went on to express her uncertainty about whether something had transpired between them but acknowledged the presence of a connection.
In July, Umansky and Richards had announced their separation after 27 years of marriage. Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave, who appeared on “WWHL” with Richards, suggested that Umansky and Slater might have intentionally sought attention, noting, “They’re in Beverly Hills. It’s not like they’re in some remote location! They’re in the middle of Beverly Hills. You know photographers are going to follow you!”
Following the release of the photos, Kyle Richards deleted an Instagram post supporting the pair’s participation in the ABC dancing competition. She also shared that she had voted for them and sent the proof to her family chat during the Season 32 premiere in September.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Richards admitted that her split had made the new season of “RHOBH” very “challenging” and “isolating.” She expressed that she typically isolates when going through tough times and acknowledged the difficulty of navigating this phase of her life with cameras rolling.
