Kangana Ranaut’s latest venture, “Tejas,” faced a lackluster reception on its release day, struggling to attract audiences until the afternoon shows. According to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned a modest Rs 1.25 crore on Friday. Notably, major cinema chains, including PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis, contributed Rs 85 lakh, constituting 60% of Tejas’ total business on the first day.

Despite the film’s potential, the overall Hindi occupancy remained dishearteningly low at 6.83%. This tepid start poses a challenge for “Tejas,” underscoring the need for a substantial uptick over the weekend to sustain momentum.
However, the prospects for “Tejas” appear uncertain, with the film poised to be Kangana Ranaut’s fifth consecutive Hindi-language disappointment. Previous films like “Dhaakad” (2022), “Thalaivi” (2021), “Panga” (2020), and “Judgementall Hai Kya” (2019) struggled at the box office. Kangana’s last notable success was the historical drama “Manikarnika” in 2019, and her recent appearance was in the Tamil-language film “Chandramukhi 2.”
