Following the viral backstage encounter between Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Timberlake at the MTV VMAs, the two stars have come forward to address and resolve any misconceptions about their supposed feud.
Megan Thee Stallion wants to clarify that she has no issues with Justin Timberlake. On September 13, the Grammy-winning “Savage” rapper took to TikTok to clear up any confusion stemming from a backstage video at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards on September 12.
In a humorous TikTok video, Megan is seen using hand gestures while conversing with Timberlake, but the audio is muted. She playfully posted the video with the soundtrack of Do As Infinity’s “Fukai Mori,” a J-pop ballad from 2001, as a nod to her love for anime.

In the clip, Megan seems to say, “I’m not beefing with Justin Timberlake, chill!” before Timberlake joins in with her signature “Real hot girl s–t!” ad-lib. Megan captioned the Instagram post with, “I just talk with my hands lol @justintimberlake love ya.”
Fans rushed to support Megan after a backstage clip from the VMAs appeared to show a verbal altercation between her and Timberlake. However, a source revealed to Billboard that Megan was merely excited to meet Timberlake and wanted a proper introduction in a calmer setting.
Both artists had memorable VMAs nights, with Megan and Cardi B debuting their “Bongos” collaboration and Timberlake reuniting with his *NSYNC bandmates for the first time in 10 years.
