Apart from Neeraj Chopra, only Julian Webber from Germany (82.39m) achieved a javelin throw exceeding 80 meters in the initial round.

The standout of the Tokyo Olympics, Neeraj Chopra, clinched silver in the previous World Athletics Championships. In the current year’s qualification A round, Anderson Peters, who secured gold previously, delivered a lackluster performance with a throw of 78.49m after three attempts.
India’s emerging Javelin Throw talent, DP Manu, achieved his best throw at a distance of 81.31 meters, securing the third position behind Julian Webber. DP Manu stands a strong chance of advancing to the World Athletics Championships 2023 finals, unless nine other athletes surpass his performance during qualification B.
