First time, Friendship day was celebrated in 1930 by the founder of Hallmark Cards, Joyce Hall. It was observed on August 2 and the most of the countries in Asia celebrate this day on August 2.
Friendship day was finalised by the United Nations General Assembly on April 27, 2011 to celebrate this day every year on July 30. Since then, it has been celebrated every year all over the world.
