Tea is produced from the Camellia sinesis plant. Tea originated in North Myanmar, Northeast India and Southeast China but the exact place is not known. It is believed that the tea was consumed for the first time in China 5000 years ago.
The first tea day was observed in New Delhi in 2005. In 2015, the Indian government proposed to the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) to expand this day worldwide.
