The former chairman of Indian conglomerate Tata sons, Cyrus Mistry has died in a car accident. According to initial probe, the car was overspeeding and had covered 20 kilometres of distance in just 9 minutes.
The former chairman of Indian conglomerate Tata sons, Cyrus Mistry has died in a car accident on Sunday, September 4. His luxury car hit a road divider in Palghar district near Mumbai which caused him death on the spot. He was 54.
There were four persons in the car including Cyrus Mistry, who was on the backseat alongwith Jahangir Pandole. Doctors said that Cyrus Mistry died on spot while Jahangir Pandole died during the transit.
According to initial probe, the car was overspeeding and had covered 20 kilometres of distance in just 9 minutes. After checking the CCTV footage, it has come to know that the car crossed Charoti check point in Palghar at 02:21 PM and the accident occurred on the bridge on the Surya river at 02:30 PM.
Mistry was travelling from Ahmedabad to Mumbai. Anahita Pandole, a Mumbai-based gynaecologist, was driving the car. Her husband Darius was sitting with her on the front seat. They suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital.

Cyrus Mistry and Jahangir Pandole was on backseat and they didn’t wear the seat belt, which is a reason of their death. According to the Motor Vehicles Act, backseat passengers should also wear a seat belt. This accident teaches a big lesson.
Many politicians and industrialists expressed their condolences on the demise of Cyrus Mistry. Prime minister of India Narendra Modi said that his passing away is a big loss to the world of commerce and industry.
