Shiv Sangram leader, Vinayak Mete, has died in a car accident today (August 14) at 5:30 AM. He was rushed to the MGM hospital in Panvel, where he died due to his injuries.
The veteran politician Vinayak Mete has died in a car accident today (August 14) at 5:30 AM. His car collided with another car at Madap tunnel on Mumbai-Pune expressway. As per reports, he was on the way to attend a meeting in Mumbai to discuss issues about the Maratha community.
After the accident, he was rushed to the MGM hospital in Panvel, where he died due to his injuries. A security man was present in the car, who too suffered injuries and currently getting treatment in hospital.
Shiv Sangram leader, Vinayak Mete is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
Mete, a former member of Maharashtra Legislative Council, was popular in Maharashtra. He was the leader of maratha community and always took stand for the rights of marathas.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reached the hospital on being informed about the incident.
Several politicians expressed condolences on the death of Vinayak Mete.
Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis wrote, “The news of the accidental death of Shiv Sangram leader, our colleague, former MLA Shri Vinayakrao Mete is very sad and shocking. I pay my heartfelt tribute to him. May God give strength to his family, relatives and workers to bear this suffering.”
