The legendary Pakistani singer Nayyara Noor has passed away at the age of 71. She was conferred with the title of Bulbul-E-Pakistan alongwith Pride of Performance award by the President of Pakistan in 2006.
The legendary Pakistani singer Nayyara Noor has passed away on saturday. She was 71. The cause of her death is not known, but reportedly she was ill for sometime.
Her death news was shared by her nephew Raza Zaidi on twitter. As soon as he gave this news, there was a wave of mourning on social media. It broke the hearts of fans and they mourned her demise.
Here what Raza Zaidi tweeted, “It is with heavy heart that I announce the passing of my beloved aunt (tayi) Nayyara Noor. May her soul R.I.P. She was given the title of ‘Bulbul-e-Pakistan’ because of her melodious voice”

Singer-actor Ali Zafar paid tribute to the singer. He wrote, “Heart breaking. I remember our last meeting and discussion at her place. She had moved beyond the worldly desires onto a serene and spiritual space with so much wisdom. She was our nightingale. May her soul rest in peace.”
Nayyara Noor was born in 1950 in Assam, India. She moved to Pakistan with her family in the late 1950s. She started learning music at a very little age but she got her first break on Radio Pakistan in 1968. Three years later, she was introduced at PTV.
She also won several awards and accolades during her career. She was conferred with the title of Bulbul-E-Pakistan alongwith Pride of Performance award by the President of Pakistan in 2006. She was also the recipient of Nigar award.
Nayyara Noor is survived by her husband Sheharyaar Zaidi, and two sons, Ali and Jaafer.
