Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah bowled brilliantly in the 1st ODI against England. He took his best six-wicket haul in the match and became the first Indian pacer to do so against England in ODI. Considering the overcast conditions, Captain Rohit Sharma chose to bowl first and gave chance to the pacers to bring the best out of them.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami took the advantage of pitch conditions and met their Captain’s expectations. The ball was seaming and swinging which made it difficult for the England players to hit. Bumrah took 6 wickets by giving just 19 runs in his 7.2 overs. He also threw three overs maiden.

With the help of Bumrah’s six-wicket haul, India restricted England for 110 runs. Indian pacers bowled very well but they increased wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant’s work. Behind the stumps, Pant was busy all the time. He took two of three catches with a single hand by diving.

First of all, Jasprit Bumrah sent out of form Jason Roy to pavilion. Then, he dismissd dangerous Joe Root. Afterwards, Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone, Brydon Carse and David Willey were also dismissed by Bumrah.

Sachin Tendulkar said Bumrah was just phenomenal. “The Oval pitch has great bounce but Indian bowlers bowled the right lengths & that made all the difference”

“A great bowling performance by India’s pace attack especially Bumrah who was just phenomenal,” Sachin Tendulkar tweeted.

Wasim Jaffer praised Bumrah in a funny tweet. “Alexa, please play Jasprit Bumrah” “Sorry, Jasprit Bumrah is unplayable,” Wasim Jaffer tweeted.

After Bumrah’s magnificent bowling, Captain Rohit Sharma hit a brilliant half-century. He made 76 runs off 58 balls. India easily won the 1st ODI by 10 wickets and lead the three-match ODI series 1-0.
