India beat England by 49 runs on saturday in Birmingham and clinch the three-match T20I series 2-0. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja (46 runs off 29 balls) helped India in giving a good target of 171 runs. India’s bowlers defend this score very easily and restricted England at 121/10 in 17 overs.
Earlier, Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to bowl. India’s captain Rohit Sharma came with Rishabh Pant for opening. They gave a good start to India but after Rohit Sharma’s wicket, team India couldn’t sustain it. Richard Gleeson took the wicket of captain Rohit Sharma (31 off 20 balls) by giving catch to Jos Buttler.
Then, Richard Gleeson and Chris Jordan scattered team India’s innings. Gleeson sent Virat Kohli (1 off 3) and Rishabh Pant (26 off 15 balls) to pavilion on the first two consecutive balls of 7th over. Suryakumar Yadav (15 off 11 balls) and Hardik Pandya (12 off 15 balls) too couldn’t play well. In form bowler of England Chris Jordan took their wickets.
When all the batters had lost their wickets, Ravindra Jadeja came on the crease and he played a remarkable innings. He made unbeaten 46 runs off 29 balls and helped India in making a defendable score of 170/8.
Richard Gleeson and Chris Jordan bowled well for England. Gleeson took 3 wickets in 4 overs by giving just 15 runs. Chris Jordan continued his previous performance and took 4 wickets in 4 overs by giving 27 runs.
England captain Jos Buttler and Jason Roy came on the crease to achieve the target of 171 runs but India’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar sent Jason Roy to pavilion at duck on the very first ball. Captain Buttler (4 off 5 balls) too became the victim of Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Jasprit Bumrah clean bowled the Liam Livingstone (15 off 9 balls). Harry Brook (8 off 9 balls) and Dawid Malan (19 off 25 balls) became the victim of spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. All-rounder Moeen Ali played some good shots and made 35 runs off 21 balls. But he couldn’t lead England to win as Hardik Pandya dismissed him by giving catch to Rohit Sharma.

David Willey also played well and made unbeaten 33 runs off 22 balls but no other player could make partnership with him. England lost all their wickets in the 17th over and made only 121 runs. India won the match by 49 runs and clinch the series.
India’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 3 wickets in the match. Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal took 2 wickets each. Harshal Patel and Hardik Pandya got 1 wicket each.
Now, the third and final T20I match will be played on July 10 (Sunday).
