The world’s richest man Elon Musk acquires twitter for $44 billion. Musk has 84.6 million followers on twitter. Earlier in April, Musk bought the nine percent share of twitter.

The world’s richest man Elon Musk acquires twitter for $44 billion. It is one of the biggest deals in the tech world. Negotiations took place for the shares price and it has been finalised $54.20 per share.

Elon Musk is in the favour of free speech so probably he will make some changes in the twitter. “Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital crown square where matters vital to the future of humanity is debated,” said Mr. Musk.

“I also want to make twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and autheticating all humans. Twitter has tremendous potential – I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it,” Elon Musk said.

In the previous tweet Musk spoke about free speech. “I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means,” Elon Musk tweeted.

Twitter is one of the biggest social media platforms which has number of users around the world. Parag Agrawal is the CEO of twitter who took over this position last year when Jack Dorsey stepped down as Twitter’s CEO.

“Twitter has a purpose and relevance that impacts the entire world. Deeply proud of our teams and inspired by the work that has never been more important,” Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal tweeted after the deal with Musk.

Elon Musk is the Chief Executive of Electric motor vehicle company Tesla and aerospace company SpaceX. According to Forbes, he is the richest man in the world with a net worth of $268 billion. He has also a huge fan following on twitter. About 84.6 million people follow him on the micro-blogging platform.

Musk keeps interacting with his followers through tweets. Earlier in April, Musk bought the nine percent share of twitter. A few days later, he proposed to buy twitter for $44 billion and now he has finally acquired twitter.
