The IPL Mega Auction 2022 is all set to be taken place on february 12 and 13 in Bengaluru. Two new franchises Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants will also participate in this mega auction with the existing eight franchises.
This will be the 15th season of IPL and total ten teams will be seen in this season. Two new teams mean long and competitive bidding process. Every year, IPL gives opportunity to the domestic players and the new players to play well and come in the eyes of national team selection management. A total 590 players have been shortlisted from the original list of 1214 players for the IPL Auction 2022. Amongst 590 players, 370 players are Indian and 220 are overseas players. There are a total of 229 capped players, 354 uncapped and seven players from the Associate team.

A total of 27 players have been retained by the existing eight franchises whereas two new franchises- Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants have retained three players each.
