Bulli Bai app has been made on the open-source software platform ‘Github.’ Atleast 100 muslim women listed for the fake auction in this app. The 18 year old girl Shweta Singh is being considered mastermind in this case.

In the Bulli Bai app case, an 18 year old girl has been detained by Mumbai police from Uttarakhand on tuesday. She is being considered the prime accused in this case. On monday, a 21 year old engineering student has also been taken into custody from Bengalaru.
Bulli Bai app was came into light when complaint has been lodged in mumbai cyber cell on January 1. In this app, atleast 100 muslim women listed for the fake auction. Many muslim women including journalists, actresses, activists and lawyers have been listed in the app.
Bulli Bai app has been made on the open-source software platform ‘Github.’ Github has taken down the accounts who have made this and said it will co-operate with the police for investigation in this case.
The name of prime accused, 18 year old girl is Shweta Singh and the name of 21 year old engineering student is Vishal Kumar Jha. Shweta Singh has lost his mother to cancer in 2011 and his father to Covid-19 last year.
Shweta Singh and Vishal Kumar both were connected with each other on the social media platform. There may be more accused in this case who helped them in making this app.
The 18 year old had made account on the name of some Khalsa Sikh so that police suspect the Sikhs in this case but police has confirmed that no sikh involved in making this app.
This is the second time when muslim women have been targeted and abused. In july, 2021 there was the app named ‘Sulli deals’ which had also abused muslim women.
