BJP announced the name of new CM of Gujarat on sunday. BJP MLA Bhupendra Patel will be the new CM of Gujarat who is a first time MLA. Before the announcement of new CM, legislature party held meeting at headquarter in Gandhinagar.
Bhupendra Patel is the successor of Vijay Rupani who has resigned as the CM of Gujarat on saturday. His sudden resignation ahead of state assembly elections shocked everyone. Now, Bhupendra Patel will be the new face of BJP in the 2022 assembly elections.
Chosen unanimously by the party, he is an MLA from the Ghatlodiya constituency. He took an oath as a new CM of Gujarat on monday. Home minister Amit Shah, Shivraj Singh Chauhan and others were present in the oath ceremony.

There were speculations over the new CM of Gujarat. Deputy CM Nitin Patel, Agriculture minister RC Faldu, Union minister Purshottam Rupala and Health minister Mansukh Mandaviya were the frontrunners in the race of CM post but BJP chose unexpectable Bhupendra Patel as the new CM.
Some were saying that Vijay Rupani is soft-spoken person and BJP needs more energetic and enthusiast person as the new CM but all these speculations prove wrong and Home minister Amit Shah expressed confidence in Bhupendra Patel who was not among the frontrunners.
