Google Doodle honours Swedish DJ Tim Bergling, aka Avicii on his 32nd birth anniversary

Google celebrates 32nd birth anniversary of Tim Bergling aka Avicii through doodle. Inspired by his brother, Bergling started making music in his bedroom at the age of 16. He was nominated for Grammy awards twice.

On wednesday, Google doodle honours Swedish DJ, songwriter, musician, remixer and record producer Tim Bergling on his 32nd birth anniversary. He was popularly known with his stage name- “Avicii.” Besides DJ, Bergling was also a philanthropist.

He was born on 8 September, 1989 in Stockholm, Sweden. Inspired by his brother, he started making music in his bedroom at the age of 16. In 2011, he released his single “Levels” which was liked by the people very much.

He released his debut studio album “True” in 2013. This album remained in Top 10 in more than 15 countries. Bergling’s “Wake Me Up” also topped in Europe and reached number 4 in United States.

His second studio album “Stories” released in 2015 and he released an EP, Avicii in 2017. After being successful, he started philanthropy work and set off on “House for Hunger” in 2011 for combating the global hunger.

Tim Bergling was nominated many times for the various awards. He was nominated twice in the American music awards and won one award for favourite electronic dance music artist for his work in “Avicii.” He also nominated six times in Billboard Music awards and won one award for Top Dance song “Wake Me Up.”

He was nominated for Grammy awards for “Sunshine” with David Guetta in 2012 and “Levels” in 2013. He won award in Teen Choice awards for Choice EDM song. He also nominated eight times for World Music awards and won two awards for World’s Best Electronic Dance artist and World’s Best Swedish act.

Bergling retired from touring in 2016 because of health issues, stress and mental illness. On 20 April, 2018 he died by suicide in Muscat, Oman at the age of 28. His third album “Tim” released posthumously in 2019.

Bergling’s family started “Tim Bergling Foundation” in 2019 to honour him. This foundation works for mental illness and suicide prevention so that no other family would lose their young child due to suicide. Later, this foundation expanded its work to climate change, manage business development and conserve endangered species.
