Para table-tennis player of India Bhavinaben Patel wins historic silver medal in the Tokyo paralympics 2020. In the gold medal match of table-tennis women’s singles class 4, she lost to world no.1 China’s Zhou Ying and wins silver medal. She becomes the second woman who won medal in paralympics for India after Deepa Malik.

India has won 12 medals in paralympics so far in the fields- Athletics, Powerlifting and swimming. Bhavinaben won medal in table-tennis which is the new field in which India won the medal.
Deepa Malik was the only woman to win a medal for India in the paralympic games till the date and now Bhavinaben Patel too has joined her by winning silver medal. Deepa Malik had won the silver medal in the shotput at Rio paralympics 2016.
