Tokyo Olympics 2020:- India men’s hockey team beat Germany by 5-4 and wins bronze medal after 41 years of wait. It creates history for India. In the bronze medal match, both the teams played very well. Initially in the match, Indian team was trailing by 1-3 but Indian team got good advantage of penalty corners and equalised the score 3-3 before the half time.
After the half time, there was a lead to India by 3-5. Then, Germany did one more goal and reduced the lead of India 4-5. During the last six seconds of the match, Germany got penalty corner and match turned exciting but Indian goal-keeper Sreejesh saved the goal and India wins the exciting match by 5-4. It creates history for India because Indian hockey team wins medal in Olympics after 41 years. Last time, India had won the gold medal in hockey in Moscow 1980 Olympics.
Since 1980, India had not been winning any medal in the olympics but In Tokyo Olympics 2020, Indian hockey team again win the bronze medal and end the 41 years wait for medal. In the Olympics, Indian men’s hockey team is only one which wins most 8 gold medals for India. Whole India is celebrating the win of India men’s hockey team.
