Popular comedian Raju Srivastava has passed away at the age of 58, his family confirmed. He was in entertainment industry since late 1980s and also appeared in many bollywood movies.
Popular comedian Raju Srivastava has passed away on wednesday morning, his family confirmed. He was 58.
He complained chest pain on August 10 and suddenly collapsed while running on the treadmill in gym. He was rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi. He underwent an angioplasty the same day.
Raju Srivastava was on ventilator support in the hospital. He was removed from ventilator support when he regained consciousness after 15 days. However, On September 1, after he ran a fever as high as 100 degrees, he was put on ventilator support again.

The comedian was in entertainment industry since late 1980s but he received recognition in 2005 after his participation in the first season of stand-up comedy show “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge”.
He also appeared in many bollywood movies such as “Maine Pyar Kiya”, “Baazigar”, “Bombay to Goa”, “Main Prem ki Deewani Hoon” and “Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya” . He was also one of the contestants of Bigg Boss season 3.
He was the chairman of the Film Development Council Uttar Pradesh.
Raju Srivastava is survived by his wife and two children.
