Bharat Bandh on March 28-29: A joint forum of Central Trade Unions has called for a nationwide strike on March 28-29 to protest against the government policies that are affecting workers, farmers and people. SBI has said in a statement that banking services may get impacted due to strike.

Bharat Bandh on March 28-29:- A joint forum of Central Trade Unions has called for a nationwide strike on March 28-29 to protest against the government policies that are affecting workers, farmers and people. The All India Banking Employees Association (AIBEA) has said on facebook that the banking sector will also take part in this strike.

The joint platform of Central Trade Unions has announced the strike after the meeting held on March 22, 2022 in Delhi. After taking stock of preparations in various states, the unions announced a two-day all-India strike against “the anti-worker, anti-farmer, anti-people and anti-national policies” of the central government.

There are various sectors which will be the part of strike such as coal, steel, oil, telecom, postal, income tax, copper, banks, insurance among others.

Financial sectors – banking and insurance will also join the strike to protest against the privatisation of public sector banks and Banking Laws Amendment Bill 2021.

The State Bank of India (SBI) has said in a statement that banking services may get impacted due to strike.

The electricity department, roadways and transport workers of Haryana and Chandigarh will also join the strike in spite of the impending threat of ESMA.

The Unions in the railways and defence sector would be making mass mobilization in support of the strike at several hundreds of spots.

West Bengal government said that all offices will remain open those days and mandated employees to report duty otherwise show-cause notice may be sent to them.

The Central Trade Unions which are part of this joint forum are INTUC, AITUC, HMS, CITU, AIUTUC, TUCC, SEWA, AICCTU, LPF and UTUC.
