The legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar has been admitted to hospital after testing positive for Covid-19. She is currently at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital.
It has been confirmed by her niece Rachna to the news agency ANI. She also said that she has mild symptoms. “She is doing fine; has been kept in ICU only for precautionary reasons considering her age. Please respect our privacy and keep Didi in your prayers,” Rachna said to ANI.

As per Etimes, Dr Pratik Samdhani from the Breach Candy hospital said that she had been admitted to hospital since saturday night due to pneumonia. The news of her hospitalisation may have come now. It means she is suffering from pneumonia and Covid-19.
The 92 year old Didi is the recipient of India’s highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna in 2001. She has also been awarded with the Dada Saheb Phalke award. She was also awarded with the France’s highest civilian honour, Officer of the Legion of Honour.
Besides this, she has also won many national and international awards. In 1974, her name was registered in the Guinness Book of World Records as she became the most recorded artiste in the history. Reportedly, she sung more than 25,000 songs between 1948 and 1971.
