The Red Sox conveyed the news of Stacy’s passing in a press release issued on a Wednesday, on behalf of the Wakefield family. In a poignant statement, the family expressed deep sadness, describing Stacy as not just a beloved mother but also a daughter, sister, niece, and aunt.
Stacy passed away at her home in Massachusetts, surrounded by her family, dear friends, and dedicated caretakers and nurses. The loss, particularly following Tim’s death, is described as unimaginable, leaving their hearts shattered.

Tim’s aggressive brain cancer diagnosis and Stacy’s battle with pancreatic cancer were disclosed on Schilling’s podcast.
