On August 4, when Neeraj Chopra was qualified for the final round, Indian athlete P.T. Usha had tweeted, “37 years ago on 8th Aug 1984, I missed the podium by 1/100th of a second & that unrealised dream could well be fulfilled by my son & India’s pride @Neeraj_chopra1 who has qualified for the finals #Tokyo2020 on 7th August. My blessings & best wishes to him.”

Neeraj Chopra has fulfilled the dream of P.T. Usha and not only fulfilled her dream but all of the Indians dream. If today Milkha Singh would be alived, he will also be felt very happy because he was missed the olympics medal in 1960 in athletics just by a few seconds.

Before Neeraj Chopra, Abhinav Bindra was the only Gold medallist of India in the individual events in Olympics. Tokyo Olympics 2020, becomes the best ever olympics for India with the win of Gold medal. India has won total 7 medals including Gold in this olympics which is all time best of India. In 2012 London Olympics, India had won total 6 medals and Tokyo 2020 beats London olympics by winning total 7 medals.

Prime minister Narendra Modi, politicians, sportspersons and many celebrities congratulate the Neeraj Chopra on this historic win. PM Narendra Modi wrote, “History has been scripted at Tokyo! On the other hand, Bajrang Punia also wins the bronze medal in 65kg freestyle wrestling on the same day. He wins the bronze medal match against Kazakhastan’s Daulet Niyazbekov by 8-0. Bajrang Punia’s opponent couldn’t get even one point and Punia clearly wins the bout.
